The court in Firozabad on Saturday sentenced life imprisonment to a real uncle convicted of raping a minor niece. The court has also imposed a monetary penalty on him. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional punishment. The matter is related to the police station Tundla.

According to the prosecution, on the night of July 4, 2018, a 14-year-old minor was alone at her house. Due to his brother being injured in a road accident, he was undergoing treatment in Agra. The mother of the minor was also in Agra. In the night, the minor’s uncle Deepak came home and raped her. The victim told the incident when the mother came home the next day. The victim’s mother filed a case against the accused Deepak in the police station. After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against Deepak in the court. The case went on in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Special Judge Poxo Act Vijay Kumar Azad.

Special Public Prosecutor Ajmod Singh Chauhan and victim’s advocate Mohammad Shahid presented the case on behalf of the prosecution. Told that during the trial several witnesses testified. Several evidences were presented before the court. Based on the testimony and evidence of the witnesses, the court held Deepak guilty. The court has said in its judgment that the convict has tarnished the blood relation. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment till his last breath. The court imposed a fine of Rs 16,000 on him. In default of payment of fine, he shall undergo additional imprisonment of one year.
