On Friday, a young man was fired upon by a volley of bullets at Nathnagar intersection in Mahuli police station area of Sant Kabir Nagar. Two youths riding a bike shot a young man who was buying vegetables in the market, seriously injuring him.

The injured youth was first sent to CHC and then to the district hospital, where in view of his critical condition, he was referred to BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur.
Injured youth told love marriage as the reason
Injured youth Ram Jain Sharma told that this incident happened due to love marriage. He had a love marriage with Parmatma Sharma’s daughter 6 months ago. Since then, he was being threatened by accused Parmatma Sharma and his relative Sonu Sharma.
According to Ram Jain, he had faced four attacks since his marriage and today he was shot for the fourth time while buying vegetables. He alleged that this time his father-in-law and brother-in-law along with some unknown people had carried out the attack.
MLA inquired about the condition of the victim
After the incident, Dhanghata MLA Ganesh Chauhan reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured youth and directed CMS to provide immediate treatment. He said that all the accused involved in this incident will not be spared and the police administration will take strict action against them.
Police started investigation
SP Satyajit Gupta said that after getting information about the incident, he met the injured youth and also took information from the doctors. The injured youth is now out of danger, police is taking complaint from the family. After receiving the complaint, strict action will be taken against the accused.
