200 illegally cut teak trees in Balrampur.
A case of cutting 200 teak trees without permit has come to light in Maharajganj Terai of Balrampur. On getting information about cutting a large number of trees, the forest department team reached the spot and took the cut woods in their possession. Along with this, a case has been registered against a person under the Forest Act.
There was a teak orchard near Sahiyapur village. In which some people cut down 200 teak trees. When the forest department got the information about which the forest department officials reached the spot. However, during this time the woodcutters fled from the spot. The forest department team has taken possession of the cut trees.
Even after the information, the forest department employees did not take action
Villagers say that these trees have been cut in the last 3 days with the connivance of an employee of the Forest Department. Whose information was given to the employee, but the forest department employee did not take any action. On getting information about the matter, the forest officer of Sohelwa forest area took stock and instructed for action.
Ranger said – the matter is being investigated
Ranger KP Singh of Barhwa range said that in this case a case has been registered against a person named Ritu Tiwari under the Forest Act. the matter is being investigated. Further legal action will be taken.
