On 30 December 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Maharishi Valmiki Airport. As soon as the airport became operational before the Prana Pratishtha in January, the country’s major airlines landed their planes. On January 22, VIP devotees from the country and abroad reached Ayodhya Airport to attend the event, in which many celebrities from the world of film, industry and politics reached Ayodhya in their own planes.

Five lakh passengers took air services from the airport in Ayodhya.

The number of passengers is constantly increasing at Maharishi Valmiki Airport

After Pran Pratishtha, the inclination of devotees from all over the country towards Ayodhya increased. Seeing this, many big airlines landed their planes in Ayodhya. They started flight services to many metros of the country by giving many tempting offers. 20 flights of various companies were started from December to June. However, due to less number of passengers on many routes, six flights had to be reduced. Still, the number of people is increasing continuously.

Maharishi Valmiki Airport is equipped with passenger facilities

Ayodhya Airport is not behind any big airport in terms of facilities. All kinds of facilities are available in the premises. Other facilities like DTM office, first aid room, reserved lounge, ticket counter and parking have been constructed. Internet facility is also available. Currently, the airport is open for 12 hours, but sometimes this time increases due to delay in flight.

The airport has only received a license to operate for four and a half years

Airport director Vinod Garg said that six months have passed since the operation of Ayodhya airport. DGCA has extended the license for four and a half years. Our effort is to ensure that international flights land at the airport as soon as possible. After the construction of the temple, many units have been built in Ayodhya. Many are under construction. During this time, employment opportunities for the people of the district have also increased. 400 people of the district have got employment in the airport and flight operations alone.
