Panigaon is a village in Mathura’s Mant tehsil. The 3-day Baigir fair began on Monday in this village located on the other side of the Yamuna in Vrindavan. The Baigirs who arrived here on the occasion of Baldev Chhath first took a bath in the Yamuna. After this, they started treating patients from the afternoon onwards.

For many decades, a three-day Vaygir fair is organized on the occasion of Baldev Chhath in Panigaon. On Monday, after the Vaygirs took a bath in the Yamuna, the fair started in the afternoon and a huge crowd gathered. People started arriving from far off places to get free treatment at the fair.

The Vaigirs kept a two day fast and took the blessings of their Gurus. After taking the blessings of the Gurus, the Vaigirs started treating diseases like goiter, poison and snake bite through tantra mantras. The Vaigirs would first make the patient stand in front of them and then beat a plate and then chant mantras and take wheat grains in their hands and put them on the patient.

The Baigirs started treating the thousands of people who came to the three-day Vaygir fair of Panigaon by singing Ramayana to the beat of the thali. In the Vaygir fair, the patients suffering from serious and fatal diseases like goiter and poison venom narrated their sad tales of rebirth in front of everyone in the Vaygir Akharas and kept crying for justice. On which the Vaygirs claimed to cure the patients by asking them to take a bath in the Ganga.
