Udyog Vyapar Mandal President Deepak Soni Dauji said that the Vyapar Mandal has been registering its objections, apprehensions and suggestions with the government, administration and public representatives since 2022 regarding the Master Plan 2031 (draft). Earlier also, we have presented our views several times by giving memorandum and meeting administrative officers and in meetings. This letter is basically like a reminder of those things.

Soni said that in the letter given on Thursday, we have requested for a review of our earlier given memorandums. The Vyapar Mandal had told the government that the proposals recorded in the Master Plan’s booklet were erroneous and misleading and the recorded measurement of the market routes was different from the actual measurement on the spot. In 2022, the Vyapar Mandal officials themselves, along with the administrative officials, had the actual physical measurement of the markets done for three consecutive days.

He said that “In the letter dated 4th July we have demanded that if there is a need to acquire any actual establishment or building in the city or if the actual limit has to be retreated for new construction, then there should be a provision of giving compensation at least four times the market rate.”

The delegation of the Chamber of Commerce submitted a memorandum in Bahraich.

Barriers to doing business
He said that “The development of these areas has been stopped due to the declaration of the main roads from the city to Huzurpur-Karnailganj, Nanpara-Nepalganj and other roads as agricultural areas. We have demanded that all the main roads leading out of the city should be declared as industrial/commercial/residential areas up to 500 meters on the right and left side of the road for 10 km. Some of these roads have been declared as agricultural areas due to which there are many obstacles in doing business here.

General Secretary Ashish Kansal said that “It is written in the letter that all the issues mentioned in the attached memorandums and this memorandum should be resolved sensitively with a view that thousands of middle and lower class businessmen who are feeding their families should not be forced to face starvation.

Protests have been lodged for two years
Let us tell you that for the last two years, the Bahraich Vyapar Mandal has been continuously rejecting the draft of Master Plan 2031 by saying that it is based on erroneous and misleading facts and has been registering its protest. On this occasion, Executive District President Kulbhushan Arora, District General Secretary Brijmohan Matanheliya, City President Deepak Soni ‘Dauji’, City General Secretary Ashish Kansal and Treasurer Sumit Khanna along with others were present.
