15 fake TTEs were caught.
The GRP and RPF have exposed the fake TTE gang in Kanpur Central station of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Till now, one or two fake TTEs used to be caught, but on this, a vicious first cheated 15 youths with the promise of a job and cheated lakhs of rupees. After this, he was posted at Kanpur Central station by giving a fake appointment letter. Was collecting recovery from passengers coming and going without tickets. GRP has caught 15 fake TTEs including the kingpin. Fake ID cards and appointment letters have been found from all of them.
For months, 15 fake TTEs were doing recovery at the station
CO GRP Kamrul Hasan Khan said that on Thursday, the ticket checking staff was checking with Sunil Paswan and GRP near the city-side escalator. During this, a suspicious youth wearing a TTE’s I-card was caught while checking. During interrogation, he revealed his name as Dinesh Kumar, a resident of Panki Ratanpur. During investigation, he turned out to be a fake TTE. After this, the GRP Inspector and the CO started the investigation, then it was found that not only Dinesh, 15 other TTEs at the station are doing similar checking with fake appointment letters and I-cards as well as recovering from passengers without tickets. When the GRP and RPF teams blocked the entire station and checked, 15 more fake TTEs were found. Dinesh was the kingpin of fake TTE gang. Due to this, he was sent to jail after registering a report against him in GRP police station under other sections including cheating. The role of others is being investigated.
Fake TTE gang was active at the station
GRP station in-charge Kirti Prakash Kanojia said that after cheating the vicious Rudra Pratap Thakur alias Dinesh Singh, a resident of Ratanpur Colony, Panki Kanpur, calling the youths outside the Central Gate No.-1 or Panki station, money for the appointment of porter, TTE etc. in the railways. And was conducting the said work by taking ID. The car has also been recovered from him. Deputy Chief Traffic Manager Himanshu Upadhyay gave a reward of one thousand to TTE Sunil Paswan, who exposed the gang.
