There is a dilemma over seat sharing between Congress and SP for the by-elections to be held on 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Congress has given a new proposal to SP, in which two things are important. First, SP should contest elections alone on all the seats of UP. Congress will fully support.
,
Congress said that Samajwadi Party should contest elections on minimum seats in Maharashtra or give up its claim. Akhilesh has demanded 15 seats from Mahavikas Aghadi in Maharashtra elections. However, SP says that no such proposal has been received from Congress till now. Both the parties are saying that the alliance will continue and both the parties will contest the elections together.
Akhilesh Yadav has left two seats in UP for Congress, Ghaziabad and Khair.
Ajay Rai said- It is possible that Congress may not contest on even a single seat. Congress state president Ajay Rai Dainik Bhaskar Told that the party will contest elections with Samajwadi Party in the state. It is also possible that Congress may not contest elections on even a single seat and its workers together contest the elections for the Samajwadi Party candidate and give him full support.
At the same time, Samajwadi Party says that they do not have any plan regarding the four seats on which Congress wants to contest. If Congress wants to contest elections on four seats, then it should tell how its candidates will be better than SP on those seats.
Samajwadi Party leader Udayveer Singh, who has been authorized to hold talks with Congress, says that Samajwadi Party has left two seats for Congress. Official information about this has also been given to Congress leaders. There has been no response from Congress on this yet. In such a situation, Samajwadi Party is assuming that Congress will contest elections on two seats in UP. SP will contest elections only under INDI alliance.
There is silence regarding Maharashtra Sources say that Congress does not want to give more seats to Samajwadi Party in Maharashtra. Therefore, she is not focusing in any way on the UP by-elections. SP has definitely put forward the demand of 12 seats before Congress, but no answer has been given by Congress in this regard. Samajwadi Party has also declared its candidates for five seats in Maharashtra. By-elections are to be held in UP on 13 November while voting will take place in Maharashtra on 20 November.
SP gave only those seats to Congress where it was difficult to win.
Ghaziabad: Congress won 22 years ago, never again In Ghaziabad, Samajwadi Party has won only once in 2004. That too when by-elections were held during his tenure. Whereas, Congress last won here 22 years ago. Barring the 2022 assembly elections, Congress has always been ahead of SP on this seat. In 2017, when there was an alliance between SP and Congress, SP had left this seat for Congress. However, Congress lost this seat and BJP registered a big victory. If we talk about the last five elections on Ghaziabad seat, BJP has managed to win three elections and BSP and Congress have managed to win once each. In the 2022 elections, Congress got only 11 thousand 778 votes.
Khair seat: Congress has not returned for 40 years Similarly, Congress has not won the Khair seat of Aligarh for 40 years. In 2022, Congress’s Monica got only 1,514 votes, while BJP’s Anup Valmiki got more than one lakh 39 thousand votes. Same is the condition of SP. SP has not been able to open its account on this seat in the last five elections. Here RLD won twice and BJP won thrice. SP’s performance here was always disappointing. There was an alliance of SP-RLD in 2022, so this seat went to RLD’s account. In the remaining elections, it was difficult for SP to get even 10 thousand votes. In the five elections held since 2002, BJP has won here twice and RLD twice. Whereas once this seat went to BSP’s account.
Congress asked for 5, SP left two seats. Congress had sent the proposal for UP by-elections to the central leadership for those five seats on which SP had not won in 2022. This also included the seat of Meerapur, where there was an alliance of SP-RLD in 2022, which later broke. RLD went with BJP. Apart from this, Congress has staked claim on Majhwan, Phulpur, Ghaziabad and Khair seats.
SP believes that SP alliance had won in Meerapur. At the same time, not only SP fought strongly in Majhwan and Phulpur, but Congress’s position was very bad. SP leaders believe that it can win both these seats. Many SP leaders had presented their claims on these seats. Whereas Congress tried to show its strength by holding workers conferences on both these seats, but SP was not impressed by it.
SP-Congress duo was a hit in Lok Sabha elections Samajwadi Party and Congress had formed an alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections under Indi Alliance. SP contested on 63 seats and Congress on 17 seats. Out of these, SP won 37 seats, while Congress won 6 seats. Congress has been claiming that it has as much stake in SP’s victory in UP as the people of SP. At the same time, SP people say that because of them, Congress has regained its position in UP. At the same time, in UP, both Congress and SP together were successful in stopping BJP on 33 seats.
