Advocates of about 22 districts of western Uttar Pradesh will be on strike today i.e. on Thursday. Despite the formation of a district in Hapur, the lawyers there are agitating for not being able to make a court. This movement has been supported by the High Court Bench Establishment Kendriya Sangharsh Samiti, which leads the lawyers of Western UP.

Government did not give money for 32.99 acres of land
According to Gajendrapal Singh, chairman of the Sangharsh Samiti, it has been 11 years since Hapur was declared a district. After the formation of the district, the High Court and the Uttar Pradesh government had ordered the district administration to find a place for the district court. Hapur-Pilkhuwa Development Authority has found 32.99 acres of land for the construction of the court complex.

The government has not released money for this land yet. Whereas many times the demand has been sent. In such a situation, the work of setting up the District Court is still incomplete.

Hapur’s lawyers are on strike since July 19
According to Ravindra Nimesh, secretary of Hapur Bar Association, Hapur was then a tehsil, then 7 courts were functioning here. After the formation of the district, 25 courts are functioning here. The district judge’s court is running in the old Munsif court room. Some courts are located in the municipality premises. While three courts are on Modinagar Road.

Altogether 25 courts of Hapur are not in a single campus. This creates problems for the lawyers as well as the litigants. The advocates of Hapur have been on strike since 19 July 2022 regarding this.

Central Sangharsh Committee gave support
The Hapur Bar Association had requested the High Court Bench Establishment Kendriya Sangharsh Samiti to give edge to this demand. This committee represents about 22 districts of Western UP. The chairman of this committee Gajendrapal Singh and convener Ajay Kumar Sharma have announced a strike on Thursday in support of the lawyers of Hapur.
