On the one hand, there is a rice mill in the premises of Ganpati Agri Business Private Limited factory located in Bhatehata village under Deva Marg and at a short distance, a plant for making chicken feed is also built. A diesel tanker had arrived at this factory in the evening. Before putting diesel in the underground tank, it was asked to clean it. Three laborers were employed for this work. Among these, Nilesh 22, a resident of the town under Jahangirabad police station area, got down first, after he did not come out for a long time, Sunil 30, a resident of village Kuti of the police station area, got into the tank.

When both of them did not come out, Dharmendra, resident of Pratapgarh village Katghara, Ambedkar Nagar district police station, also got into the tank. When the three did not return for a long time, other friends gathered at the spot. When he realized that something untoward was going on, he took safety measures and came down. Where he saw that all three laborers were lying unconscious. All three of them were taken out one by one. They hurriedly took all three in other vehicles to the Community Health Center, Deva, where the doctors declared all three dead.

The simultaneous death of three workers created a stir in the factory. The work stopped and a large number of people gathered. Within a short time, the news of the incident spread like wildfire and as soon as the information was received, Additional Superintendent of Police North Charanjeev Nath Sinha, SDM Sadar R. Jagat Sai, CO Fatehpur, Ramnagar, Nagar and many others including Jahangirabad, Deva, Fatehpur, Kursi and Ramnagar. The in-charges of the police stations and the police force reached the spot.

At the same time, the relatives of the laborers living in Jahangirabad area also reached there, there was chaos among them. Whereas the family members of the laborer living in Ambedkar Nagar district were informed about the incident. The post-mortem of the three deceased laborers was conducted late at night. Also, the investigation of the incident was going on. Barabanki Additional Superintendent of Police North Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said that diesel was stored in the tank built in the factory.
