BCCI launched the official anthem of WPL.
The official anthem of WPL i.e. Women’s Premier Leg ‘Yeh To Bas Bharti Hai’ was launched on Saturday 4th March. BCCI launched it. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and WPL posted the anthem on social media. Shankar Mahadevan, Hardeep Kaur and Neeti Mohan lent their voices to this anthem. At the same time, many women cricketers including Deepti Sharma and Shefali Verma were also seen in the video of this two-minute anthem.
The anthem ‘Yeh To Bas Bharti Hai’ talks about women’s cricket and the evolution of the sport over time. The anthem is expressing the spirit of women’s cricket.
Shakti is the mascot of WPL
The mascot of the Women’s Indian Premier League is the tigress. It has been named Shakti. It was released by BCCI Secretary Jai on Thursday i.e. March 2. Shakti has been given the form of a lioness.

Opening ceremony will be held this evening
This is the first season of WPL. Before the first match of the season, there will be an opening ceremony of about one to one and a half hours. 6 singers including Shankar Mahadevan, Harshdeep Kaur and Neeti Mohan will perform full anthem in the ceremony. The ceremony will start at 5:30 pm at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Bollywood actresses Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani will also be seen performing in it. Hip-hop singer AP Dhillon will also perform.
First match between Gujarat and Mumbai
The first match of WPL will be between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians. The match will be played at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The Mumbai team is Harmanpreet Kaur. At the same time, the command of the Gujarat team is in the hands of Australia’s Beth Mooney. The match will start at 7:30 pm.
