Councilor Rakesh Kannaujiya explaining the problem of street lights
During the presentation of the budget in Agra Municipal Corporation, the councillors who were listing the problems of their area, revealing records of corruption, accusing discrimination, the same councillors united on the issue of honorarium. All of them started thumping their tables at once and the proposal to increase honorarium was rejected.

BJP councilor Prakash Keswani proposed to increase the honorarium of councilors. He said that councilors get only Rs 1500 as honorarium. It should be increased to 12 thousand. All the councilors unanimously supported this proposal by thumping their tables. However, the mayor has not yet approved it. After discussing with the Municipal Commissioner and officials, he said that a decision will be taken on the basis of the system of governance. Before this, all the councilors were discussing corruption in the House. They were complaining about work not being done. Not only this, the budget of Rs 189 crore of the Jalkal department was passed without any thinking. No councilor complained about no water in his area, broken pipeline, dirty water. Whereas the public is struggling with these problems daily.

Ward 24 councillor Harshit Sharma said that no work has been done in his ward for the last one year. His dignity is being played with. Councillor Hemlata Chauhan said that the street lights near her house are broken. Even after many complaints, they are not being repaired. Councillor Ravi Mathur raised the issue of vaccination and sterilization of dogs and monkeys. He said that even after spending Rs 5 crore, there is no wards. Babies are still being born. Councillors Sharad Chauhan and Rakesh Kannaujiya also raised the issue of broken street lights. Councillor Hemant Prajapati said that an outsourcing employee has taken Rs 600 in the name of getting a death certificate made. A complaint was made to the Additional Municipal Commissioner. But no action has been taken so far.
It was decided to install solar lights
A decision was taken in the House to install solar lights in the city. A budget of Rs 5.5 crore has been allocated. Solar plants will be installed at 7 places. 2200 solar street lights will be installed on 70 roads like MG Road, Sursadan, Sikandra, Yamuna Kinara etc. These will cost Rs 31 crore. Government support has been sought for this. Rs 60 crore will be spent on door-to-door garbage collection, Rs 4 crore for mechanized cleaning system, Rs 5 crore on Agra water supply.
