New Zealand captain Tim Southee has stepped down from the captaincy just before the India tour. In his place, Tom Lotham has been made the new captain of the team. He will captain the Kiwi team coming on Indian tour from October 16. New Zealand Cricket Board gave this information on Tuesday night.

35 year old Saudi said- ‘I have decided to leave the captaincy in the interest of the team. Captaining New Zealand has been very special for me. I have always given priority to the team in my career and I believe this decision is right for the team. Now I can focus on my performance and serve the team better.
