Today is the 24th day of the country’s top wrestlers sitting on a dharna at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding the arrest of former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad had reached the dharna on Monday.
After which he had announced to join the dharna till justice is not served. Also said that now those who are his fans, they will start reaching here from Tuesday. On the other hand, today, on the call of wrestlers, a memorandum will be submitted to the President for justice in support of wrestlers at all district headquarters across the country. From today the wrestler will also send this letter to all women ministers and MPs.
This will be a letter to the President
It has been 24 days since the strike of women wrestlers at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. But the government is not listening to their voice. Women wrestlers have brought laurels to the country at the international level, but today they are on the streets for justice for the harassment meted out to them.
He has even had to go to the Supreme Court to get an FIR done against his harasser. The attitude of the police and administration towards them seems indifferent as the harasser is still roaming freely and is still making derogatory statements against the victimized women wrestlers in the media.
This is not right for any democratic system. The foundation of our democracy rests on a just system that holds the promise of justice for every human being. Justice should be done to these daughters of ours as well. We request you to intervene in this matter and take necessary steps as soon as possible for the justice of the daughters of the country.
Write to BJP MPs to become their voice
On behalf of the wrestlers, 43 BJP MPs including Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani have been written that being women MPs of the ruling party, they have high expectations from them. She is pleading him to help her and save her honor by being her voice. Women wrestlers have finally written to the women MPs of BJP to take out their time and come to Jantar Mantar and show them the way. Vinesh said that she will take this letter to their homes through fellow wrestlers.
