Two IPL matches were rescheduled: Decision taken due to Ram Navami and elections in Kolkata; Swap took place in the match of 16-17 April

Last year, in the match between KKR and RR held in Kolkata, Rajasthan won by 9 wickets.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced to reschedule two matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, which was earlier scheduled to be held at the Eden on April 17, 2024, will now be played a day earlier i.e. on April 16, 2024. At the same time, the match between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals to be played on April 16 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will now be played on April 17.

Kolkata Police told Bengal Cricket Association that, due to Ram Navami and Lok Sabha elections, there will not be much force for security on April 17. For this reason the match was rescheduled. On the other hand, on April 16, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has called a meeting of the owners of IPL teams in Ahmedabad.

No decision has been taken regarding the ticket
BCCI has announced to reschedule both the matches, but has not yet clarified what will happen to the tickets already sold for these matches.

BCCI had released the schedule in 2 phases
BCCI had released the schedule of Indian Premier League-2024 in phase 2. It was stopped due to Lok Sabha elections. The board said that the second phase of the current season of the league will start on April 8 with a night match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. This match will be played at the home ground Chepauk ground in Chennai. The final of this season will be played on 26 May in Chennai. Read full news
