Classes for the University Grants Commission (UGC) aud semester can begin from November. UGC can start classes for the aud semester for the academic year 2020-21 for undergraduate and postgraduate students from November 18. For this, the Commission had already issued guidelines and academic calendar for the year 2020-21, according to which classes will start in November.
Admission process will be completed by 31 October
Along with this, colleges will have to complete the admission process by October 31, 2020. For this also, the UGC issued a detailed guideline asking universities to start the semester from November 1, 2020. With this, complete the admission process by 31 October. However, classes can be held from November 18, 2020 if admissions are delayed. In its calendar, the Commission has also instructed to hold classes 6 days a week to compensate for the loss of studies due to corona infection and the lockdown imposed by it.
Classes will be online, offline or both modes
The UGC also said that institutions can also adopt blended learning processes. This means that classes can be conducted online, offline or in both modes. Apart from this, if any student has canceled his admission, the UGC has also asked such student to refund the admission fee. As per UGC guidelines, merit based admission for the first year of academic year 2020-21 should be completed by the end of October 2020. Apart from this, the last date for admission to fill the vacant seats will be November 30, 2020.
