The municipal commissioner performed Bhoomi Pujan for plant construction in Panki.
Under the contract signed between India and Germany, the plant for making manure from garbage was started in Kanpur. On Wednesday, Municipal Commissioner Shivsharanappa GN inaugurated the construction of the plant by worshiping it. Under the Indo-German program, a plant is being set up in Kanpur through GIZ India to curb litter and plastic in the sea.
One and a half crore rupees will be spent
The Municipal Commissioner informed that projects are also going on in India to deal with marine waste. The cities of Kanpur, Kochi and Port Blair have been selected in the country to prevent pollution in the sea through Ganga. Under this program, GIZ India is setting up a composting plant at Saramita Panki.
A plant will be made ready with Rs 1 crore. Machinery worth Rs 50 lakh will be installed in it. The entire budget will be spent by the GIZ company itself.
Compost will be made from plastic and garbage
Vaishali Nandan, head of the GIZ project, said that the construction work would be completed by March 2023. In this plant, MRF i.e. manure can be made from 6 metric tonnes daily. The compost that will be made here will be environment friendly and helpful for farming.
