Helping children in orphanages and government schools, to serving after-school centres – there are more than enough reasons why one could look up to 21-year-old Akarsh Shroff, a final year student of BITS Pilani. Shroff has won the prestigious United Nations V-award recently. V-Awards, an initiative by the UN Volunteers India, aims to celebrate young people, who are making the world a better place for all, through their acts of volunteerism. Times of India spoke to Akarsh Shroff to know more about his work.
