And if we talk about the city where Maha Kumbh is to be held, then the maximum emphasis is given on connectivity. Preparations for Maha Kumbh are in full swing in the Sangam city of Prayagraj. People from all over the world are coming to attend the Maha Kumbh.

In a few months, flights to around 20 cities will start from Prayagraj. For this, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airport Authority and Sahalkar Samiti have already started working hard. Now slots for flights to other cities from Prayagraj Airport are being prepared so that the operation of flights can be increased to many cities before Maha Kumbh.

Prayagraj Airport is the third airport with the highest number of flights in Uttar Pradesh. After Lucknow and Varanasi, it is far ahead of other cities of the state in terms of flights and passenger movement.
Flights to many cities, demand is being checked
The airports selected for air connectivity are Aligarh, Azamgarh, Guradabad, Shravasti and Chitrakoot and the development work of Sonbhadra and Sarsawa (Saharanpur) airports is in progress. As soon as these are ready, flight operations will start from Prayagraj airport so that passengers from these cities can easily travel during Maha Kumbh. Along with this, slots are being sought to start flight services for Kolkata, Raipur, Indore and Pune airports.
Along with this, a report is also being prepared on the demand for passenger movement between these cities. Apart from this, there are preparations to start flight operations between Gorakhpur and Prayagraj again. Due to less crowd of passengers, the Gorakhpur flight has been stopped for a few days.
Currently, flights are being operated from Prayagraj Airport to Mumbai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Bhopal, Lucknow, Dehradun and Bilaspur. Two flights are flying to Delhi.

152.87 crore rupees are being spent on the expansion of the airport
The state government had given special priority to air connectivity in the state in the budget. The Yogi government, pleased with the 19.2 percent increase in the number of air travelers in the financial year, released crores of rupees to further accelerate the development work of airports. The development work of Prayagraj Airport has started as part of the preparation for Maha Kumbh 2025. Rs 152.87 crore is being spent on the expansion of the airport.
The airport of Sangam city is currently at third place in the state after Lucknow and Varanasi. Starting flights from the remaining cities means that along with the increase in the number of flights from Kumbh city, tourism will get a huge boost.
