The reason behind her dismissal has stirred widespread astonishment: her father-in-law reportedly became uncontrollably furious upon seeing her feet.

In a shocking incident unfolding in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, a newlywed bride was abruptly ousted from her in-laws’ home merely 48 hours after her wedding. The reason behind her dismissal has stirred widespread astonishment: her father-in-law reportedly became uncontrollably furious upon seeing her feet, leading to her expulsion. Tragically, the revelation of this incident coincided with the sudden death of the bride’s maternal grandfather.

The sequence of events began with the bride being summarily sent back to her maternal home by her retired army veteran father-in-law, citing alleged disability in the girl’s feet. Matters escalated quickly thereafter, culminating in a complete severance of ties and communication between the families, prompting the filing of a police complaint.

Dr Anurag Paliwal, a counselor at the Family Counseling Centre, shed light on the situation, revealing that both the bride and groom hail from families with army backgrounds. He emphasised the bride’s physical capability, dismissing claims of disability purportedly made by her in-laws as baseless. The bride’s family has vociferously asserted her innocence in the matter, attributing the rejection to intentional non-acceptance by the in-laws.

Amidst growing public scrutiny and legal action, an FIR has been registered against the in-laws, marking a significant escalation in the unfolding dispute. The incident has sparked debates surrounding traditional beliefs and familial expectations, raising pertinent questions about societal norms and individual rights.
