After the Hathras case, General Secretary of Popular Front of India (PFI), who was planning to incite ethnic violence in UP, was caught at Thiruvananthapuram Airport in Kerala. He was trying to escape from Muscat. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the police were searching for him. Immigration officials at Thiruvananthapuram Airport on Saturday immediately informed the ED and UP police after identifying Rauf.
The UP ATS team has also been sent to Thiruvananthapuram. ADG law and order Prashant Kumar said that on November 18, a lookout notice was issued against Rauf Sharif in a case registered at the Math Police station of Mathura. After this, he is also being searched at airports across the country. ATS will interrogate him by bringing him here. Let me tell you that during the CAA-NRC demonstration in Delhi, there is a charge of funding PFI to spread violence. The matter is also being investigated by the ED.
Hathras was coming at the behest of Rauf
The ED has collected strong evidence by examining the money received from abroad in Sharif’s account. After which a look out circular was issued against him. On the other hand, during investigation of alleged journalist Siddiqui Kappan, who was arrested from Mathura in Hathras incident, it was revealed that he was going to Hathras at the behest of Rauf ‚to spoil the atmosphere there and incite ethnic violence. The STF investigation of the Hathras incident revealed that Kappan and his associates were funded by PFI senior officials Rauf and P. Koya. Both of them have deep penetration in all Islamic organizations and these people have built their large network in Islamic countries.
ED was raided on 26 bases a week ago
The ED also raided 26 PFI locations across the country a week ago – including the whereabouts of PFI’s UP head Wasim Ahmed, who lives in Indiranagar in the capital. Apart from this, the house of member Moussir in Barabanki was reconstructed which was given by PFI 80 thousand rupees. This was confirmed from his bank accounts.
What is the incident…
On September 14, a young Dalit girl was allegedly gangraped and later assaulted by a Dalit girl in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The girl’s condition was critical and she was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi where she died on 29 September. After this the whole matter took a political color and the state government suffered all round. Later, the Yogi government recommended a CBI probe for a fair probe into the case. At the same time, four accused involved in conspiracy to incite a riot in the state on the pretext of Hathras case, Siddique Kappan from Malappuram in Kerala, Atikurrahman from Muzaffarnagar, Alam from Rampur, Masood from Bahraich were arrested on 5 October in Mathura. These accused associated with PFI were going to Hathras. The role of Rauf Sharif was revealed during the deliberations.
