Dr. O.P. Mishra was born on 25 July 1939 in a simple Brahmin family in village Behta Sathai, Block Bawan. His primary education was completed in village school and high school and intermediate examination in Hardoi. After this he did his graduation in the year 1958 and PG in the year 1960 from BSSD College Kanpur. Got 11th position in Agra University merit list in BA and 4th position in MA. Merit scholarship was available from class 9 to MA. He received his PhD in 1976 and a DLitt degree in 1994. Both the dissertations were published by Chugh Publications Allahabad and MD Publications Delhi respectively.
He was the Reader of Economics in BHU Banaras, SD College Muzaffarnagar and CSN College Hardoi. C.G.N. in the year 1980. He was the principal of PG College Gola Gokarnanath District Lakhimpur Kheri and retired in the year 2000.

Can’t sit at home even after retirement
OP Mishra continued to give his services even after retirement. During his service, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in Kanpur University, R.D.C. Convenor of Economics, Senator and Member of the Executive Council. Meanwhile, OP Mishra also got a call from abroad and got this opportunity not once but twice, but OP Mishra did not understand anything more than the service of the country and did not go.
