This picture is of deceased Preeti’s younger sister Priyanka Jha.
In Jhansi, for the last two months, the husband was quarrelling with his wife by using the word ‘mrityu moksham’ in every matter. Wife Preeti Jha asked a lot, but the husband did not tell anything. Then the younger sister talked to her brother-in-law on the phone. During the conversation, a fight broke out and the wife left the train.

She said, “Jija kept on saying the word ‘mrityu moksham’ the whole night. Didi was in depression because of this. I spoke to jija on his insistence. Then he started abusing me. I also abused him. After this, he got hyper. I folded my hands and apologised, but sounds of fighting started coming on the phone. I got scared. 10 minutes later, I called and didi’s son picked up the phone and said, “Mummy mummy has died.”
Let’s read the story of that last moment…in the words of the sister
After the death of her daughter Preeti Jha, the mother is crying badly.
As soon as he came to the new house, brother-in-law started saying Mrityu Moksham
Priyanka Jha, a resident of Mahroni in Lalitpur, said, “My elder sister Preeti was married to Jitendra Kumar Jha 13 years ago. He is a resident of Samthar. Didi lived with her family on rent in Pichore for 10 years. Her brother-in-law used to run a mobile shop nearby. Her brother-in-law used to harass her over every small thing. But because it was public, he was not able to torture her much.
About one and a half years ago, they bought a plot in Tankori village and got a house built. 6 months ago, sister shifted to the new house with the family. After coming here, brother-in-law started torturing sister more. He did not let sister go out of the house and neither did he give money for expenses. For the last 2 months, brother-in-law was repeatedly saying the words mrityu moksham.
Preeti was in depression due to death
Preeti Jha and Jitendra Kumar Jha got married 13 years ago.
Priyanka further said that “5 days ago, brother-in-law came home drunk and started beating sister. He removed the pipe from the cylinder and tried to set it on fire. Then sister pacified brother-in-law by pleading with him. This was not a one-day thing, it had become an everyday thing. On Wednesday, brother-in-law came home drunk and kept shouting Mukti Moksham throughout the night.
This made my sister tensed that what happened? Is it the shadow of some ghost or something else? Or is there some other big tension. He used to abuse his maternal family, so he had stopped talking to her for one and a half months. Sister thought that if he hates his maternal family, then that is the reason. Then he asked me to talk to my brother-in-law and said to ask the problem, why is he torturing me so much.”
Sister-in-law said- you abused me so much that I can’t even describe it
On receiving the news of Preeti’s death, her maternal family members reached Jhansi.
Priyanka further said that “On Thursday morning, my sister tried to make me talk to my brother-in-law, but he did not talk. Then in the evening he came after drinking. Then he spoke on the phone. He started abusing my parents and my brothers. He abused me in such a way that I cannot speak. I kept listening. Then the matter reached to such an extent that he started abusing me. He started making false accusations.
I said loudly that it is not like that, then he started abusing me. I just said that you should also…. He started repeating the same thing again and again. Didi said that Priyanka, you should apologize, so I folded my hands and apologized. I also said that if you want, I will come there and apologize by holding my ears. But brother-in-law got hyper.”
There were sounds of fighting and then Didi died
Younger sister Priyanka, maternal uncle Prabhudayal and others mourning after Preeti’s death.
Priyanka said that “After my brother-in-law got hyper, sounds of fighting started coming on the phone. Then no one talked. I kept shouting that someone should talk, what is happening there? After this the phone got disconnected. I started getting nervous. I kept calling. When the phone was picked up, a voice was coming saying stop…stop, don’t do it. It seemed as if those people were running. But what was happening there? I don’t know.
Only sounds were coming on the phone. Then the call got disconnected. Then I started getting dressed to come. When I called after 10 minutes, Didi’s elder son Yug, 10 years old, picked up the phone. He said, “Aunty, Mummy has died.” I said, “Son, don’t joke, let me talk to Mummy.” Then he said again, “Mummy has really died.” I said, “She was talking nicely 10 minutes ago, then how did Mummy die?” Then he started crying.

Then she said that he will come in a day or two. Then the grandson called and told that mother Preeti died after being hit by a train near Gadhmau crossing. Son-in-law Jitendra was beating Preeti and demanding money for the last 6 months.
She had also asked for money to build a house and she had given it to her. Her in-laws also used to harass Preeti. The police have registered a case against her husband Jitendra, brother-in-law Kamlesh, father-in-law Ramlakhan, mother-in-law Gomti and sister-in-law Vinita for dowry harassment and forcing her to commit suicide.
