SP candidate Abhishek Yadav alias Anshul has filed his nomination on Wednesday.
Voting for the three-tier panchayat elections is to be held on 19 April in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. April 8 means today is the last day for filing nominations. But before this, the Congress-BSP has increased the zeal of the panchayat elections by announcing the nominees for the post of its Zilla Panchayat member. Election for Etawah residents of Uttar Pradesh is also considered important because the main opposition party, Samajwadi Party, has been continuously holding this seat since 1989.
The outgoing president said – this election the trial of the assembly match
Apart from the Bharatiya Janata Party, the governments of Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party have been coming and going in Uttar Pradesh since 1989. But the SP remained in the possession of the district panchayat seat. Abhishek Yadav is contesting this time again. He is the outgoing District Panchayat President. Abhishek says that this election is a trial of 2022 assembly election for him. But this time the ruling party is fully prepared to break the SP’s 32-year-old domination.
Congress could never exist
BSP, Congress has been absent in this election for years. But in the last days of nomination, both parties have increased the electoral stir by announcing their nominees. BSP district president Sheelu Dohra has late night issued a notice to 14 of his candidates. At the same time, the district president of the Congress Party, which has been out of power in the state, has released the list of 20 candidates on the last day of nomination. Congress District President Malkhan Singh said that Congress has not had any existence in the district for a long time in this election. But this time, the Congress is trying its best to free the SP’s occupation of the District Panchayat President seat for 30 years.
Election to be held for 24 ward members
Polling will be held on April 19 for a total of 24 panchayat wards, 8 BDC members, and 471 gram panchayats in the district. In the elections, the ruling party and the main opposition party SP are busy campaigning with full vigor. The BJP has not yet announced its district panchayat president’s post, while the outgoing district panchayat president from SP and nephew of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Abhishek Yadav, has been re-nominated by the SP.
