The preliminary examination of UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Civil Services Pre-2024 will be held today on Sunday in Gorakhpur. 38 examination centers have been set up here for this examination. About 18046 candidates are registered in Gorakhpur, who will appear in the examination.

This exam will be held in two shifts. The first shift will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Whereas, the second shift will be from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. For this, 23 sector magistrates have been deputed by the administration.

The gates will be closed 30 minutes before the start of the exam
Tight security arrangements have been made to prevent any kind of breach in the examination. A local inspecting officer and police personnel have been deployed at all the centers. Candidates have to reach the center half an hour before the start of the examination. Because, the gate of the examination center will be closed 30 minutes before the start of the examination.

This special instruction for the candidates
The first question paper will have a total of 100 questions related to history, geography, polity, economy, environment and ecology, general science, current affairs etc. Whereas, in the second question paper C-SAT, a total of 80 questions will be asked from 10th level mathematics, reasoning and comprehension. Experts have suggested to the candidates to fill the series of the question paper and all other information on the OMR sheet very carefully. There is negative marking in both the question papers.

You will not be able to take any gadgets in the exam
Any kind of gadgets will be prohibited in the exam hall. If any candidate takes electronic items, mobile etc. to the exam hall, legal action will be taken against him. Candidates will have to carry only ball point pen and transparent water bottle in the exam hall.
