Strict action has been initiated by the administration after the announcement of the night curfew in Varanasi.

Night curfew has been imposed in Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Kanpur due to the increasing infection of Corona in Uttar Pradesh. The District Magistrates of these districts have issued guidelines regarding the duration and time related to the Night Curfew after a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In Lucknow, the night curfew will be applicable only in the municipal corporation area. Essential goods and night shift personnel will be exempt during the night curfew. There will be no night curfew in rural areas of these four districts. Day-to-day operations with the Kovid-19 protocol will continue.

Chief Minister Yogi will visit districts

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in districts where more than 100 cases are being received every day or where the total number of active cases is more than 500, the district magistrate should take leave in relation to the leave in secondary schools according to the local situation. The Medical and Health Minister and Medical Education Minister will visit the affected districts along with the officials. The Chief Minister said that he himself will do a surprise inspection of Prayagraj, Varanasi and Gorakhpur districts in the next few days.

  • Hospitals will remain open. Emergency services will be exempted at night.
  • Supply of fruits ‚vegetable‚ milk ‚LPG‚ petrol-diesel and medicine will continue.
  • There will be an exemption for government / semi government employees of the night shift and private sector personnel of essential services.
  • People coming to and from the railway station ‚bus station‚ airport will be able to show their tickets.
  • There will be no restriction on the movement of all types of freight trains.

Night curfew likely in these districts too

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state of Kovid-19 infection is deteriorating rapidly in Maharashtra as well as some states in South India. There is a possible return of the people of Uttar Pradesh living there. The process of panchayat elections is also going on. The coming days will be challenging for us. He said that in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Gautam Budh Nagar, Jhansi, Bareilly, Ghaziabad, Agra, Saharanpur and Moradabad district, Kovid infection is increasing rapidly. There are more cases here. However, there has been a decline in the positivity rate. But contact tracing should be increased. They should be traced and tested and given treatment according to need. People not applying masks should be fined. Immediately special secretary level officers should be deployed for monitoring in all these districts.

What did the DM of Lucknow say?

DM Abhishek Prakash said that medical and food services vehicles will not be stopped. All educational institutions will remain closed till 15 but the examinations will be in compliance with the Kovid-19 protocol. Night shift people will be left in traffic. Rail and air passengers will be able to go by showing tickets.

8,964 people killed in UP so far

The second wave of Corona has spoiled the situation in Uttar Pradesh. More than 6,024 cases of corona have been reported in UP within the last 24 hours. 40 people have died. There have been 12,000 new cases in the state within the last 2 days. On Wednesday, 1,333 new corona cases were found and 6 deaths occurred in Lucknow. The situation can be gauged from the fact that tokens were distributed for the last rites at the Baikunth Dham Electric Crematorium Ghat in the city and people had to wait for 8 to 12 hours. At present, there are 31987 active cases in the state. A total of 8,964 infected people have died in UP so far.
