  • Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna termed SP as enemy of farmers
  • House to run till March 10, government to present paperless budget on February 22

Today is the second day of the budget session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature. Even today the session started amidst uproar by the opposition. In the Legislative Council, the SP and Congress party MLAs created a ruckus in the Well over a no-confidence motion against Protem Spekar. At the same time, there was an attempt to surround the Yogi government in the Assembly on the farmer issue. During this time, there was a sharp fight between Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhary and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna. Suresh Khanna accused the SP of insulting the farmer leader Mahendra Singh Tikait. Said that these people are enemies of farmers. The proceedings of both the houses were adjourned for 30 minutes as the ruckus erupted.

Dead farmers get martyr status

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ramgovind Chaudhary sought permission from the Speaker, Hriday Narayan Dixit to discuss the issue of farmers. Said that farmers are agitating against all three agricultural laws. They are demanding the withdrawal of the law. Farmers are reaching every corner of the state on the Ghazipur border. The government ordered that diesel should not be filled in farmers’ tractors. Every effort is being made to suppress the farmers. The farmers are facing fake cases. Farmers who have been martyred in the movement against agricultural laws should be given martyr status.

Uproar in the legislative council too

In the Legislative Council today, the SP demanded a motion of no-confidence against Protem Spekar. After this, SP MLAs came up in the veil and started shouting slogans. Here the opposition protested under Rule 143. SP MLC Anand Bhadoria said that we have brought a no-confidence motion against the Protem Speaker and they are sitting on the same seat and are proceeding in the House. In such a case, unless the Protem Speaker can take any action under 185 if a motion of no confidence is brought against him, we will not attend the Question Hour. They have adjourned the proceedings of the House when the proceedings of the House are convened and then we will keep this demand.

Congress MLC Deepak Singh said that the government of the rules constitution is being ignored. The Legislative Council was adjourned today due to the arrogance of the government. We want voting on the Protem Speaker.

SP MLC Sunil Sajan said that the majority belonged to the Samajwadi Party and there is distrust against the Protem Speaker. Notice has been given under Rule 143 of 1956. The work of the Protem Speaker came to an end with the oath taking. How can a Protem Speaker run the House? We demand that elections should be held if the notice of us is accepted. In a constitutional manner the Protem Speaker cannot run the House. The BJP has no choice but to hold elections.

Condolences to the departed members today

At 12 o’clock, the proceedings of the House started again. After this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the departed former minister Chetan Chauhan Kamla Varun and other members of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly.
