There is an alert of heavy rain in 13 districts of UP today. There is a warning of lightning along with strong winds in 34 districts. There may be rainfall ranging from 10 to 60 mm.

Monsoon is progressing rapidly in the state. The monsoon trough line has reached the plains of Ganga.

There may be good rain in the next 3 days. However, there will not be much change in the temperature. There will be no relief from humidity.

More than 50 districts received 7 MM rain yesterday
Talking about Friday, more than 50 districts of UP received more than 7 mm of rain. Which is 8% less than normal. Prayagraj received the highest rainfall of 60 mm. Bijnor was the hottest district. The temperature here was recorded at 36 degrees. Lakhimpur Kheri had the hottest night. The night temperature here was recorded at 30 degrees.

4 districts received 60% more rain during monsoon
From June 1 to July 31, Auraiya, Etawah, Balrampur and Basti received 60 percent more rainfall than normal. At the same time, districts like Moradabad, Bareilly, Hamirpur, Maharajganj, Kasganj, Lalitpur and Firozabad also received more than normal rainfall. These districts received 20 to 59 percent more rainfall than normal.

Very little rain in 6 districts
Between June 1 and July 31, Jaunpur, Fatehpur, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Shamli and Gautam Buddha Nagar received 60 to 99 percent less rainfall than normal. In Jaunpur, where there should have been 337.8 mm rainfall in the month of July, only 135.9 percent rainfall has occurred. Similarly, in Fatehpur, only 122 mm rainfall occurred instead of 315 mm. The situation in Rae Bareli is even worse. Here there should have been 203.7 mm rainfall in the month of July, whereas till now only 71.5 mm rainfall has occurred.

Good rains are expected in August-September
According to Dr. Mohammad Danish, scientist of the Meteorological Center in Lucknow, there will be good rain in August and September. Rainfall is expected to be around the average for the entire state.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in districts like Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh in the first week of August. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur.

Last year, there was 17 percent less rainfall
For the last several years, UP has been receiving less than normal rainfall. In the last seven years, UP received the least rainfall in 2022. During this period, it rained 29 percent less than normal. In 2017, it rained 19 percent less. In 2023, it rained 17 percent less than normal. The Meteorological Department says that this time there will be good rain in UP in the months of August and September. Due to this, the average rainfall in UP will remain around normal rainfall.

Flood situation in seven districts
Flood situation persists in Ayodhya, Ballia, Lakhimpur Kheri, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Bahraich and Hardoi. More than 3,400 people of seven villages are affected due to flood in Ayodhya. There is flood situation in 4 villages of Ballia. There is erosion. More than 600 people are affected in this.

Seven villages in Lakhimpur Kheri are in flood. 36 boats have been deployed for help. Seven villages in Farrukhabad are in flood. Four of these villages are being eroded. Two villages in Sitapur and Bahraich are flood affected. Meanwhile, flood situation persists in one village in Hardoi.

6 barrages in the state are close to the danger mark
On 31 July, the water level of Kachla Bridge situated on Ganga in Badaun went above the danger mark. The water level of Ganga was recorded at 162.22 meters. Last year the maximum flood level here was 162.91. At the same time, the water level of Sharda and Ghaghra rivers in the state has reached close to the danger mark. Their water level is only 0.50 meters less than the flood level till 31 July.

In this, the water level of Sharda river in Paliakalan of Lakhimpur Kheri and Ghaghra river in Elgin Bridge of Barabanki is close to flood. The water level in Turtipar of Ballia has also reached close to flood. The irrigation department has issued a flood forecast at Garhmukteshwar, Kachlabridge, Fatehgarh in the Ganga river. Along with this, there is a possibility of flood situation in Kushinagar in the Gandak river. The water level of the river has crossed 95.12 meters.
