In Bharwari town of Kaushambi Kokhraj Kotwali area, a BA student was beaten to death by police personnel. The crime of the young man was that on the day of Holi festival, he had applied abir to a constable of Bharwari post while on duty. On which the constable had threatened him of dire consequences by abusing him. It is alleged that the constable, along with his other police personnel, took him hostage and beat him up in the room. The youth has complained about the matter to the SP on Friday morning. The SP has ordered an inquiry into the matter.

Rajesh Sonkar, a resident of Nehru Nagar Nai Bazar in Bharwari town, runs a canteen in Kasturba Girls College. His 16-year-old son Raj Sonkar is a BA student at Bhavans Mehta Degree College. It is alleged that constable Pushpendra Tiwari, posted at Bharwari police post, along with his five constable companions caught him from the Divedi guest house on the morning of April 13 and took him to an unknown room and beat him with a cloth in his mouth.

Threatened to encounter BA student

During this, he was threatened with an encounter with a pistol for complaining. Exempted from the clutches of the police, the victim told the incident to the family members. Victim Raj Sonkar told, he challenged his Iqbal by applying Abir to the constable on Holi. Due to which the soldiers beat him up. On complaining to the officers, he has threatened to do an encounter. On Friday morning, the victim reached the SP office and did the actions of the constables by giving a complaint letter. The SP has asked the circle officer to investigate the matter.
