Vidya Balan has shared a short video clip on the completion of 18 years of her film Parineeta. In this video, he has shared some photos related to his character Lalita and the sets of the film. Along with this, he also remembered the director of the film, Pradeep Sarkar.
Director-writer Pradeep Sarkar passed away on March 24 this year in Mumbai at the age of 67. He was running ill for a long time.
Vidya Balan made her Bollywood debut with this film. In the same year, she also received the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Female for this film.

The film was based on the book by Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay
The 2005 film also starred Sanjay Dutt, Dia Mirza, Reema Sen and Achyut Poddar along with Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan. Pradeep Sarkar adapted novelist Saratchandra Chattopadhyay’s 1914 book Parineeta. The film earned around Rs 31 crore at the worldwide box office.
Pradeep Sarkar made Parineeta at the age of 50
Pradeep Sarkar was admitted in the ICU of Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai due to viral fever and pneumonia. He also had kidney disease and was on dialysis. He made his directorial debut at the age of 50 with the film Parineeta.
In 2014, his film Mardaani was also a hit. Rani Mukherjee played the lead role in this film. He also made films like Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Lafange Parindey, Helicopter Eela.
