On Tuesday, in village Bhaunra of Menhdawal development block of Sant Kabir Nagar, substandard material was being used to repair the PWD road damaged by the drinking water project, seeing which the villagers got angry. The villagers stopped the repair work and protested.

For the last four months, the work of pipeline for drinking water supply is going on in village Bhaunra, in which PWD has dug up the road in the middle to lay the pipe. The villagers had complained to the contractor regarding its repair. On Tuesday, laborers were engaged to repair the road, but the amount of cement was reduced in the repair.
A complaint was made to the contractor
A light layer was being made from above, which would break completely as soon as it rains and there would be a possibility of the road caving in, which was complained about but the quality was not improved by the contractor. After this, the villagers expressed their displeasure and stopped the work and while protesting, demanded the DM to get the quality checked and get the road repaired. During this time more than a dozen people including Ramesh Nishad, Achhelal, Pancham Kumar, Sandeep, Mahendra Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Omprakash, Ugresh Nishad were present.
