Virat Kohli scored 77 runs against Punjab Kings on Monday. For this performance he received the Player of the Match award.

After helping Bengaluru win its first match in the 17th season of IPL, Virat Kohli said that he still has a lot of T20 cricket left in him. He played an inning of 77 runs and made the team chase the target of 177 runs. After the match, Virat said, 'People just want me to promote the T-20 format across the world but I know that my game is still far from over.'

On Monday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 4 wickets. Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror made an important partnership of 48 runs. Virat, who scored 77 runs, was the player of the match.

Told fans not to be overexcited, only 2 matches have taken place
Virat said after the match, 'Don't be overexcited, only 2 matches have taken place. People talk about stats and achievements but in the end all that remains is the memories. Rahul (Dravid) bhai also says, when you come on the cricket field, you play with all your heart.

When you play wholeheartedly in front of fans and with friends, you create good memories that you want to remember even after your career is over. I have been receiving the love of the fans, these relationships and the support of the team for years and I am thankful for it.

Virat said, I will be thankful for the support of the team and fans throughout my life.

It is important to understand the condition when the wicket falls
Kohli said, 'I am opening and as an opener it is my responsibility to give a good start to the team. But if wickets fall continuously then it is important for you to understand the conditions also. You cannot get out by playing bad shots. The pitch was not that good for batting, it was difficult to score runs here, then I understood that runs could be scored here only by playing cricketing shots.

I just wanted some support from the other end, which I did not get. Green, Maxwell and Anuj got out continuously in front of me, then the responsibility on me also increased. Was disappointed that I couldn't finish the game, the ball was in my court and should have gone out of bounds. But was caught at deep point. Still, playing cricket after 2 months and being able to contribute to the team's victory was not so bad for me.

My name has been linked with promotion, but my game is yet to come
Virat said, 'I know that my name has now started being associated with promoting T-20 cricket in the world but I feel that my game is still left. I can still win the match.

I play the cover drive well in the gap, but Rabada and Arshdeep will not let me play this shot easily. One has to find the boundary in front of them, so going ahead and playing inside out shots is a better option.

Virat said that his T-20 game is still pending. He can make the team win many matches.

How were the last 2 months?
Virat was asked what would you like to say about the last 2 months with the family away from cricket. On this Kohli said, 'We were not in the country, we were in a place where people did not recognize us. I lived that time wholeheartedly with my family, we were roaming on the streets like common people. I felt normal for 2 months. It was a good experience as a family.

With a family with 2 kids things change completely. Your connection with your elder child remains different. I am thankful to God that I could spend two months with my family.

The noise of face was forgotten in 2 months
Virat further said, 'When I returned home after the break and entered the field, I was shocked by the noise of the fans. During the last 2 months of peace, I started forgetting this habit completely, but when I returned, I realized that this experience is also an important part of life.

Virat said that if he lived like a common man for 2 months, he felt relieved.

Not playing for the Orange Cap

On this Virat said, 'I am no longer playing for caps, achievements and statistics. This is an opportunity for me to perform better for RCB and then Team India. I will just promise the fans that I will continue to perform like this in the future also.

Kohli hits match winning fifty

At one time he had scored 32 runs in just 16 balls, but 4 batsmen were out in front of him. He batted carefully here and took the team closer to victory by scoring a fifty.

Virat was out before finishing the match and after his wicket the team needed 47 more runs. Here Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror made a partnership of 48 runs and made the team win the match. Virat has scored 98 runs in 2 matches and with this he also became the top run scorer of the 17th season.

Virat took a break of 2 months from cricket
Virat stayed away from cricket for 2 months between January, February and March this year. He had gone abroad with his wife and family for the birth of his second child. On February 15, his son Akay was born, about which Virat gave information on social media. During this period, he could not play the 5-Test series against England, which India won 4-1 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Virat made a comeback in the IPL match against Chennai Super Kings. In this he could score only 21 runs on 20 balls, due to which the team had to face defeat. But with the win in the second match, RCB achieved 2 important points in the 17th season.
