Child Health Nutrition Month, Vitamin A supplements were launched at Khalilabad CHC, Sant Kabir Nagar. The Chief Guest of the program Shyam Sundar Verma and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anirudh Kumar Singh inaugurated the program by cutting the ribbon by giving Vitamin A supplements to the children.
CMO Anirudh Kumar Singh said that under the Child Health Nutrition Month, vitamin A supplements are given to the children. According to the CNNS (2016 -18) report, 16.9 percent of children aged one to four years are deficient in vitamin A. Therefore, there is a provision to give a total of nine doses of Vitamin A to each child. This dose will be given during the Chhaya Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHND) session.
Do not gather more than 10 children together for vitamin A supplements
While giving Vitamin A in view of Kovid, the ASHA worker has to take care that not more than 10 children gather at a time during the session. If anyone has fever or cough and difficulty in breathing, do not come to the session. Monitoring of 20 sessions in each block will also be done by the medical officers.

Anganwadi worker Urmila said that we are all fully prepared for this campaign. All the people in the village have been told that they must take their children during the VHND session and give them Vitamin A supplements. ASHA worker Sunita of Atraura says that people in the village are being told about the importance of Vitamin A. Vitamin A supplements will be administered to all children from 9 months to 5 years of age so that they can get complete nutrition.
