The film ‘The Vaccine War’ has been released in theaters on 28 September. The film has been made by ‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri. In a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Vivek told that he does not want to be a part of the star system. He said that it is very difficult to make a non-starrer film in our country, here the star is always at a high level and everyone else seems to be his peon.

Vivek further said that he is not one to get frustrated or run away from the field but wants to give the audience a chance to choose different films.

It is very difficult to make a non-starrer film in this country
Regarding ‘The Vaccine War’, Vivek said, ‘I work hard day and night to take the film to as many people as possible. I want to bring before everyone the journey from death to life. I want to tell who were the people behind this journey.

There is a warrior inside Vivek Agnihotri, what was the fight for the screen space for the release of the film? On this Vivek said, ‘It is very difficult to make a non-starrer film in this country. This is a fight. In this fight many people give up, many people get lost. I’m not one to get frustrated or run away, that’s why I’m fighting.

I want both to have their place, both to be respected. The audience should have the opportunity to choose whether they want to eat samosa, drink mango juice or apple juice.

Vivek said- I do not want to be a part of the system where everything is run by one person.
Giving his opinion regarding the star system, Vivek said, ‘There are two problems with this system.

The first is that they believe the audience is dumb. All the things are coming from there that the audience doesn’t understand, so give them a very simple story. In our reviews we write – Leave your mind behind, mindless comedy. What does all this mean? What is mindless comedy, a person always puts his mind somewhere no matter what he watches.

The second problem I have is with the star. Here, it takes all the energy and money to promote a star. Today if you ask anyone who are the top 5 writers, top 5 cameramen, top 5 music directors, top 5 lyricists of the film industry? So people won’t be able to tell. You overshadowed everyone else as if nothing else mattered. Only one person matters and the film runs on his strength.

Yes, it is true that the film works but I do not want to be a part of the system where everything is running on the strength of one person.

Vivek said- Now I have become quite decent
Vivek considers himself rebellious. He told that now I have become quite decent. Further when he was asked whether he likes to work with people who do not consider themselves stars? Vivek said, ‘I have worked with big artists like Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar. I respect those who are senior to me a lot. None of them make me feel like I’m small, or that I have to talk to four people first to get to them. No one can tell whose contribution is made in making the film.

Star will never call anyone brother, everyone will call him brother.
Vivek shared an anecdote about emotions. He said, ‘When we go out for shooting, everyone stays in the same hotel. In the morning, all the other actors get ready and come down together, but the first three people will come down before the star. Then we will park the vehicles. In that process, sometimes some actors are also removed.

In this way you have created a hierarchy even before going on the set. You will always see that the star will be at a high level and everyone else seems to be his peons. They stand there to flatter the star and to increase the value of the star. Star will never call anyone else brother, everyone will call him brother. By doing this we already increase the status of the star.
