Warner has been a part of the Australian team that won the World Cup three times.

Despite announcing his retirement from international cricket, Australia’s star batsman David Warner has expressed his desire to play in the Champions Trophy next year. Warner’s international career ended in January after he was ruled out of the ODI and T20 World Cups after winning the ODI World Cup in Test cricket.

Warner said that he is still available for the Champions Trophy. In an Instagram post, he expressed his desire to play in the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan in February and March next year. Warner wrote, I will continue to play franchise cricket and if selected, I am ready to play in the Champions Trophy as well.

Even while retiring from ODIs, he had said that if needed in the Champions Trophy, he would be available.

Warner has been part of the Australian team that has won the World Cup 3 times, including the 2015 and 2023 ODI World Cups and the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Made his Test debut in 2011
David Warner made his Test debut in 2011 against New Zealand in Brisbane. He scored 8786 runs in 112 Test matches at an average of 44.59. This includes 26 centuries and 37 half-centuries.

Scored runs at an average of around 45 in ODIs
Warner started his ODI career against South Africa in Hobart in 2009. He played his last ODI match in the ODI World Cup final against India in Ahmedabad on 19 November. He has scored 6932 runs in 161 ODIs so far at an average of 45.30. In this, he scored 22 centuries and 33 half-centuries.

Warner’s journey in T20 International
Warner was also the Player of the Tournament in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Warner is the highest run scorer among Australian players in T20 Internationals. He has scored 3277 runs in 110 T20 International matches.
