There is a steep increase in the numbers of road accidents in India which is becoming a matter of concern for the country and its people. Recently, in yet another road accident, a fish-laden van overturned in Bihar’s Katihar district on July 31. The incident took place near the Mirchaibari Harishankar Nayak School in the Mirchai Bari area of Sahayak Police Station. Surprisingly, amid the turmoil, not everyone was involved with the vehicular mayhem. As the locals gathered at the crash site, an unexpected diversion caught their attention as they seized the opportunity to scoop up the fish scattered across a grimy road, resulting in widespread looting. Within moments after the incident, the fish disappeared from the road.
The chaotic scene was captured on camera, and a video of the frenzied looting has since been doing the rounds on the internet. In the video, people were seen pouncing at the squirming silver-skinned fish as they filled up their plastic bags and escaped with the loot. From the elderly to children, everyone dived into the frenzy of looting the overturned van. As per the video’s caption, the pickup van, filled with fish, lost control while attempting to save a child.
The incident has sparked widespread astonishment, igniting discussions online and leaving viewers with a good belly laugh.
Meanwhile, a similar incident unfolded a few days ago in Etmadpur, Agra. As a loader transiting 110 boxes of liquor to a shop in Mitawali village hit a speed bump near Barhan Road, the vehicle’s door unfortunately opened, causing 30 boxes to spill onto the street. Grabbing the opportunity, a crowd swiftly seized upon the spilled country liquor, resulting in widespread looting. The chaotic scene was captured in a viral video on social media, showing people swiftly taking advantage of the situation, absconding with the fallen boxes. Upon realising about the incident, the driver returned to the scene, but by then all the spilled bottles had been taken away by the culprits.
