The India captain landed in Dharamsala via a chopper on Tuesday ahead of the fifth and final Test of the ongoing series against England.

Rohit Sharma made a stylish arrival for the fifth Test of the ongoing series against England as the India captain landed in Dharamsala via a chopper on Tuesday, March 5.

India are set to take on England in the fifth and final Test of the series at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, considered to be one of the most beautiful sports stadiums in the world for the altitude it has been created at, and also for the snow-capped peaks in the backdrop which make for an idyllic view for players and spectators alike.

Rohit was recently in Jamnagar to attend the pre-wedding festivities of Mukesh Ambaniโ€™s son Anant Ambani and his fiancee, Radhika Merchant. The rest of the team arrived in Dharamsala on Sunday, March 3.

The 36-year-old opener will be preparing for the fifth Test, which begins on March 7. The hosts already have the series in their pocket, having gained an unassailable 3-1 lead in the fourth Test in Ranchi. India won the match by five wickets, thanks to an unbeaten half-century from Shubman Gill and a nerveless 39-run knock from wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, who made 90 runs in the first innings to help India stay in the game.

India, who finished as runners-up in both the 2021 and 2023 ICC World Test Championship Finals, are currently at the top of the WTC 2023-25 table with a points percentage of 64.58%. In the current cycle, India have won five Tests, drawn one, and lost two. Rohit Sharma and Co. will be eager to strengthen their hold at the top of the WTC points table by winning the final Test against England, with a 4-1 scoreline.

While India have missed the services of key personnel such as Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami, they will be relieved to welcome Jasprit Bumrah back to Dharamsala. The 30-year-old speedster has been named as Rohit Sharmaโ€™s deputy after being rested for the fourth Test. He has 17 scalps to his name, the joint second-highest alongside Ravichandran Ashwin and three less than leading wicket-taker Tom Hartley.

Rohit, personally, has had a decent series so far. After failing to score big in the first two Tests, the skipper notched up his 11th Test century in the third Test in Rajkot to bail India out of a tricky situation. He followed it up with an 81-ball 55 to help India chase 192 runs in the fourth Test.
