Priyanka resigned in 2021 but later applied for reinstatement.
Priyanka Mishra, a resident of Kanpur, assumed the role of a constable in the police department on October 10, 2020.
Stories of users achieving fame overnight on the internet are common. But what if one has to pay a huge price for going viral? One such story is that of Priyanka Mishra, a resident of Kanpur, who served as a female constable at the MM Gate police station. Known as Revolver Rani, she became an internet sensation after posting a video, where she was seen dressed in a khaki uniform, holding a revolver, and discussing law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh. After the video went viral, Priyanka received widespread criticism. Consequently, she chose to resign, and her resignation was officially accepted by the then-SSP Muniraj. She submitted her resignation to Agra SSP Muniraj G on August 31, 2021.
Priyanka Mishra was temporarily reassigned to administrative duties. Priyanka initially joined the UP Police as a constable, filling in for her deceased father’s post on compassionate grounds. Her firearm-themed videos earned her the nickname Revolver Queen.
In 2021, Priyanka resigned from her position but later sought reinstatement, citing financial difficulties with Police Commissioner Dr Preetinder Singh. The case was referred to the Assistant Police Commissioner’s office, and legal advice was sought from the Joint Director of Prosecution. The guidance recommended making a decision based on the appointing authority’s discretion.
In the aftermath of regular UP Police personnel’s demise during their service, eligible dependents are granted reserved recruitment opportunities. To be eligible for constable positions under the deceased dependent quota, candidates must pass a written exam, meet specific physical standards, and excel in a physical efficiency test.
UP Police Job Criteria
Interested candidates for the UP Police must have completed at least 12th grade or hold an intermediate qualification. Aspiring UP Police Department recruits will undergo a multi-stage selection process, which includes a written exam, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Detailed Medical Examination, and Document Verification. A recent update has affirmed that this year’s UP Police Exam will be conducted in a hybrid format, with exam questions displayed on a computer screen, and candidates will be required to record their answers on an OMR Sheet.
