Baba Siddiqui, Leader Of Ajit Pawar’s NCP
According to sources, three bullets were fired at Siddique. He died during treatment at the Lilavati Hospital.
Former Maharashtra Minister and Ajit Pawar-led NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai on Saturday evening.
The firing took place outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, news agency PTI reported citing an official. “Two to three rounds were fired. Further probe is underway as teams have rushed to the area,” the official said.
Who Was Baba Siddique?
Baba Siddique served as an MLA for three consecutive terms in 1999, 2004 and 2009, and had also served as a Minister of State for Food & Civil Supplies, Labour and FDA. In February this year, he resigned from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress party and joined the Nationalist Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar.
Siddique, also known as Bandra Boy, was believed to be a close friend of Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.
