Customs seized 355.65 grams of gold during an investigation from a woman who arrived at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport on a flight from Sharjah on Friday. The woman was wrapping a thin layer of gold in gray colored metal inside a water flask and perfume bottle. Gold has been valued at Rs 16,71,631 lakh. The woman has been released after being questioned for being less than 20 lakh gold.
Gold was also hidden inside pearl wares
According to officials, passengers coming from Air India Express aircraft number IX 1184 were being investigated. Meanwhile, Gent’s perfume was found in a woman’s bag. When checked inside it, gold was found. After that, when the water bottle was opened, gold was kept inside it too closely. The woman is currently released. Further legal action is being taken.
