On the Vat Savitri fast, married women worship Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Yamraj as well as Savitri and Satyavan. They wish for unbroken good fortune by wrapping a cotton thread on the banyan tree. The Vat Savitri fast is considered a big fast for attaining good fortune. In which women worship with great enthusiasm.
