After ‘Atrangi Re’ last year, Sara Ali Khan’s ‘Gaslight’ is coming directly on OTT platform i.e. Disney Plus Hotstar. It also stars Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh along with Sara. Sara plays the role of Misa, while Vikrant and Chitrangada play the roles of Kapil and Rukmini. He has done a special conversation for Dainik Bhaskar. Here are the main parts:-

:- How is Gaslight different from other horror movies?

Vikrant: It is not horror, but you can call it murder mystery. Can also be called thriller. Writer Neha and director Pawan Kriplani have created a wonderful world. Of course, here I, Sara and Chitrangada ma’am come from three different acting schools, but have appeared in the same film. So many things make it unique. The film is just two hours long, and the whole family can watch this murder mystery.

:- Apart from the director or the script, what were the reasons that made you say yes to Gaslight?

Sara: Apart from those two, there is no other reason for me. As an actor, I constantly want to do different types of films. Here my character is on a wheel chair throughout the film. It was challenging for me because I am a high energy girl. I am always jumping and jumping. It was not possible here at all.

Chitrangada: Actually the director or the script is the most important thing. I too have never done a murder mystery before. There are many shades of my character.

:- What were the takeaways from this film for all three?

Sara: When I look at my character of Missa from the third person point of view, I find that she does not give up on her cause despite the tough circumstances. It inspires me a lot to see her that if she can stay strong, who is on a wheel chair then I as Sara who has a loving mother and lovely environment, has no excuse to give up.

Chitrangada: Very interesting. In my case, the pace of a murder mystery genre, how it is written, got to learn here. Play the silences. Or how much background score matters in such films, it was all an amazing experience. Realized that every time you don’t need to deliver dialogues with high level energy. Sometimes you can do too much with too little.

Vikrant: To be honest, this would have been my answer too. Of course I have done thrillers before, but yes, this is my first film in the psychological space. This is our director Pawan Kriplani’s favorite space. Learned a lot from him as an actor.

Apart from acting, what else do you like to do?

Sara :- I like swimming, otherwise my hand and eye co-ordination is not that good. This is also a better way, where you can stay fit.

Vikrant:- I would like to add that tomorrow if Sania Mirza’s biopic is made from cricket or tennis, I would definitely like to see Sara play Sania.

:- Although people are very afraid of making mistakes, but how sure are you all that make mistakes and learn from them?

Sara: I consider Love Aaj Kal 2 as my mistake. My work was wrong in that. Learned from him that mistakes happen. And trying to keep going

Chitrangada: Mistakes keep happening. Small and big have been happening. Big mistakes have also happened in personal life. I would rather give advice to those who have made mistakes in life. Not those who have lived a straight life just by reading books.
