The Indian team is returning today after winning the T20 World Cup. The country is preparing for a grand welcome for the team. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet the players as a mark of respect in New Delhi at 11 am on Thursday. Then there will be a victory parade of the team in an open roof bus from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

After this, BCCI will give a reward of Rs 125 crore to Team India. There was a time when the board did not have money to encourage the 1983 World Champion team. In such a situation, famous singer Lata Mangeshkar had to come forward and Lata raised funds for Team India by doing a music concert. Only then did every player get one lakh rupees each.

The Indian team led by Kapil Dev defeated the two-time world champion West Indies by 43 runs. The team had won the World Cup for the first time then, but the BCCI did not have the money to encourage this team.

2. 2007 T20 World Cup: Team got 10 crore rupees, Yuvi got 1 crore separately
Team India won the first T20 World Cup by defeating Pakistan by 5 runs. The team won a World Cup after 24 years. In such a situation, BCCI gave a prize money of Rs 10 crore. The board gave an additional Rs 1 crore to Yuvraj Singh who hit 6 consecutive sixes in an over.

Not only this, the team players were taken around Mumbai’s Marine Drive in an open roof bus. Thousands of fans had gathered during this time. Later, the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met the players and wished them well.

3. 2011 ODI World Cup, Dhoni’s team got 39 crores
BCCI gave a prize money of Rs 39 crore to Dhoni’s team, which won the World Cup after 28 years. In this way, every player got Rs 2 crore each. The rest of the amount was given to the coaching staff and selectors. Dhoni’s team won the ODI World Cup for India for the second time by defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets.
