Ripley suffered a fractured right orbital socket due to the beatdown she received at the hands of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodrigues in the parking lot, and will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.
WWE announced that former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley is going to be away from live televised action for a while. Ripley has been involved in a feud with reigning Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. WWE revealed that she was brutally attacked by Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in a parking lot during the October 29 NXT episode. It has been confirmed that Ripley suffered a fracture during the beatdown. “Following the brutal attack, it has been revealed that The Nightmare [Rhea Ripley] has suffered a fractured right orbital socket, which will put Ripley out of action for an undisclosed amount of time,” WWE announced.
WWE even shared a video of the attack’s aftermath alongside their official statement. In the video, a couple of referees can be seen rushing towards the parking lot. As they reached the parking lot, Morgan and her enforcer Raquel could be seen walking away with smiles on their faces. The superstars were holding baseball bats in their hands as they left. The camera then panned towards Ripley who seemed to be unconscious next to a blue car. The former champion had blood marks all over her face and torso as she was carried away to safety by the company’s staff.
“Last night on NXT, Rhea Ripley was heinously attacked in the parking lot by Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and her enforcer Raquel Rodriguez,” the statement read.
Ripley has been one of the most prominent figures in WWE recently. She even got her hands on the Women’s World Championship but had to relinquish her title because of a shoulder injury. In her absence, Morgan won the title at WWE Crown Jewel and then aligned herself with Dominik Mysterio. She even joined the former champion’s faction Judgment Day while casting Ripley out.
Ripley eventually returned to action in July this year. Since her comeback to WWE, Ripley has been on the hunt to take Morgan out. But given the latest fitness update, it seems like the former champion will have to wait for her revenge.
As for Morgan, the Women’s World Champion will be competing at the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She will take on WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.
