The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday presented a budget of 5.50 lakh crore for the fiscal session 2021-22. Special arrangements have been made for higher education in this. Now the youth will not have to go far to pursue a degree. A state university will be established in every division of UP. At the same time, the Yogi government is going to change the appearance of state colleges in the state at a cost of Rs 200 crore.
170 government degree colleges will be changed
State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that 16 state universities are currently operating in UP. Many of these divisions do not yet have a State University. In such a situation, the students of rural environment have to go to another district to get higher education. This increases the burden of hostel and mess fees on the students. After the university opens in its own board, students will not have to go far to study. Apart from this, the Yogi government has prepared to change the Surat of 170 government degree colleges of the state.
A provision of Rs 200 crore has been made in the budget for the construction work of government colleges. This will directly benefit more than ten thousand students studying in these colleges. More than 41 lakh students are studying in 7,183 private, aided and government degree colleges in the state.
Universities will be formed in disciplines like skill development
51 state colleges are being set up in the state, as well as 28 new private universities are going to be opened. Government is also considering to open universities in industries like skill development to increase skill development among the youth. In this, 27.282 hectares of land has been made available for the establishment of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh. A provision of 2000 lakh has been made in the construction work item. Apart from this, an amount of Rs.1000 lakh has been provided to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra for construction work. At the same time, for the establishment of Saharanpur State University, an amount of more than Rs 19 crore 22 lakh has been released for purchasing 17.598 hectares of land of farmers.
