Managing director of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Cooperative Marketing Association, Dr. RK Gautam, said that onion will be provided to people 55 rupees and potato 36 rupees per kg through van.
Price drop likely in the coming week
Traders predict that by November 1, the prices of potatoes will start falling within a couple of days of taking all the potatoes out of the cold store. Potato is also coming from Punjab. In September, new potato supplies start from Bangalore in the mandis of Uttar Pradesh. In October, potatoes from Uttarakhand and Himachal also enter the mandis. This reduces potato prices in October every year. But, this time due to rain, the supply of potato from Bengaluru was interrupted and the potato coming from the mountain is going to Delhi and other mandis instead of UP mandis.
