Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath showed the sign of victory in the assembly.
- Uttar Pradesh has had five BJP chief ministers so far, but none completed
- Yogi Adityanath was sworn in as Chief Minister on 19 March 2017
The government of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is presenting the full budget in Apna Vidhan Sabha today, which is paperless on the lines of the central government. With this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s name and a record have been added, he has become the first such CM of the BJP government, under whose supervision the budget was presented for the fifth time.
Know why Yogi’s name became a new record
There have been five Chief Ministers at various times in BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh. Kalyan Singh has been chief minister twice, Ram Prakash Gupta and Rajnath Singh have been chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh once. Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister on 19 March 2017 and still holds his post.
For the first time in the state, BJP was formed in 1991 and the Chief Minister was crowned by Kalyan Singh. But on 6 December 1992, the government of Kalyan Singh was sacked due to the Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya. He was able to remain on the post of Chief Minister for 1 year 165 days. Although the Kalyan Singh government would not have been sacked, it would naturally have completed its term, as the government was formed with an absolute majority.
