YouTuber Rashid Siddiqui has opposed Akshay Kumar’s Rs 500 crore defamation notice and threatened legal action against him. Siddiqui, in a reply sent through his lawyer JP Jaiswal, has said that there is nothing derogatory in the videos he made in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. He has termed the allegations leveled by Akshay Kumar as false, regrettable and repressive and said that the purpose of these allegations is to harass him.

‘Freedom of speech is a fundamental right’

Jaiswal has written in response that the case of the death of Sushant Singh Rajput was covered by many independent journalists, including Siddiqui, as many influential people were involved in it and well-known media channels were not giving correct information. He has also written that freedom of speech is a fundamental right of citizens. The content uploaded by Siddiqui cannot be considered derogatory as he maintains his stand with impartiality.

‘Information was already in public domain’

In response Jaiswal further wrote – “The news reported by Siddiqui was already in the public domain and he cited other news channels as sources. Apart from this, the defamation notice also raises the question of late , Because the videos were uploaded in August 2020. “

‘500 crore compensation absurd, unfair’

Jaiswal writes- “The Rs 500 crore compensation is absurd and unfair and is sought with the intention of pressurizing Siddiqui. Siddiqui appeals to Akshay Kumar to withdraw his notice and if he does not do so, then he will be legal against it. Action will be initiated. “

Also mentioned the old interview of Akshay

Jaiswal wrote in his reply, “When Akshay Kumar interviewed an influential politician (PM Narendra Modi), he was targeted and made personal comments against him on several YouTube videos and websites. Surprised. It is a matter of fact that Akshay did not take any action at that time. But, he selectively chose Siddiqui for the charge of defamation. “
