At least seven people were killed after a massive fire broke out in Maharashtraโ€™s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar during the early hours of Wednesday. Three women and two children were among those killed in the blaze, police informed.

โ€œAt around 4 am, a fire broke out in a clothing shop in the cantonment area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The fire did not reach the second floor but after a preliminary investigation, we think seven people died due to suffocating. The reason behind the fire is yet not clear. Further investigation is underway,โ€ Manoj Lohiya, Commissioner of Police, Aurangabad was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Soon after receiving information about the blaze, firefighters rushed to the scene and took the situation under control.
