Mrs Ambani, a crucial cog in bringing the Olympic movement back to India, opened up on the positive direction the nation is heading in terms of its sporting ambition.

The face of the Olympic movement in India, Mrs Nita Ambani, has been at the forefront of the advancement of sport and the upliftment of the youngsters of the nation through the prowess of sportsmanship for a long while now.

The IOC member’s philanthropic endeavours across the sporting spectrum including her involvement in big-ticket events such as the IPL, the ISL for instance have revolutionized how sports is perceived in the nation.

She was also a leading factor in bringing the latest Olympic session to India after a prolonged wait of four decades.

Mrs Ambani opened up on the positive direction the sporting ambition of the country is headed stating that, “We had the honour to host the Olympics Session in India after 40 years. So, it is after 40 years that we have brought the Olympic movement back into India.”

Cricket, the most followed and practised sport in the nation, was added as an Olympic event in a landmark call at the IOC session in Mumbai and Mrs Ambani expressed her delight on the same.

She also spoke about the poetic timing of the decision which was carried through during a time when the nation is hosting the blue ribbon ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

“It was such a historic session when Cricket was declared as an Olympic sport and what better to have it declared when the World Cup is happening in India,” she beamed.

Mrs Ambani also heaped praise on the honourable Prime Minister of the nation, Shri Narendra Modi, who has been a passionate exponent of the proliferation of sport in the nation and a key factor in the Olympic dream.

“Our most respected, PM Narendra Modi ji said that India will bid for the Youth Olympics in 2030 and the Summer Olympics in 2036. So, I think it is so much to look forward to, especially for the young generation of our country,” she concluded.
